The Reading List by Mike Paul

“Can you recommend any books?”

At the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, I committed to reading more. Not just in quantity but also in quality. I wanted to find books that would challenge me intellectually and help me become a better thinker. Being raised in a conservative Christian home did me no favors and kept me from reading just about anything for years. I figured I had to make up for lost time, so in 2020 I got after it.

The more I read, the more books I talked about. The more I read, the more I wrote. And people started asking me for book recommendations. I’ve published monthly lists of books I’ve read but haven’t gone into great detail with any of those books.

Starting in January 2023, all that changes. Each month, I’ll share with you 5-10 books that I’ve read and loved. I’ll give you a quick summary of the book, why I recommend it, and how it connects with other books, articles, or other media I’ve come across.

PLUS, when you sign up, I’ll immediately send you five all-time favorite recommendations and resources I’ve created to help you read to lead, or even write your book.

Of course, I’m assuming that if you read these emails, you value my opinion. Thanks for your trust. If there is a book you feel should be shared, please let me know. I’m happy to consider any worthwhile book that has applications in the world of education and leadership.
